The Merry Makers

A current initiative involves support for "The Merry Makers" which is a unique group of dancers most of whom have an intellectual or physical disability. They are a Sydney based group ranging in age from 6 to 56 who are supported by a wonderful group of volunteers. They practice on a regular basis and undertake periodic major performances. A documentary, The Music in Me, has been made about The Merry Makers which traces the history through to a major performance. The documentary was entered in France's Avignon Film Festival in June 2007 and director Nigel Traill and producer Anne Kenyon were awarded the best documentary prize. The documentary also was the winner of two awards in December 2007 at the Monaco International Film Festival.  DDH Graham Limited is proud to be involved in supporting the presentation of the film at the festival. It is hoped that with the world wide recognition the festival award has received, that the great work and successes of the "The Merry Makers" may be inspirational to others across the globe.
